Art Alive Gallery, which was set up in New Delhi in 2001 and celebrates its silver anniversary in 2026. In arriving at this benchmark, the gallery has played a critical role in taking Indian art forward with key exhibitions, a vibrant publishing platform, vital support for art events and collaborations, and a diverse range of activities. Its roster of artists has ranged from modern masters to senior and respected contemporaries whose works it has exhibited, including S.H. Raza, M.F. Husain, Krishen Khanna, Akbar Padamsee, Anjolie Ela Menon, K.G. Subramanyan, Satish Gujral, Sakti Burman, Senaka Senanayake, K. Laxma Goud, Jogen Chowdhury and Paritosh Sen on the one hand, and Manu Parekh, Madhvi Parekh, Paresh Maity, Jayasri Burman, Arpana Caur, Thota Vaikuntam and Veer Munshi, among others, on the other hand these artists have been important contributors to the making of the Indian art story and Art Alive features these and a whole host of other artists as part of its anniversary exhibition that is being curated to draw parallels that have existed in India’s art making practice since the very dawn of civilization. The exhibition hopes to start conversations on the past, present and future of Indian art in engaging and meaningful ways.

A curated art exhibition showcasing original artworks by women legal professionals of the Supreme Court of India, celebrating the intersection of law, creativity, and personal expression. DEVI is a collective of passionate and dedicated women legal professionals, who strive to promote gender equality, justice, and empowerment through various initiatives. Initiated in 2022 by a group of young enthusiastic advocates, the collective has fostered a strong team of women lawyers to execute its tasks. Started with the idea of extolling the virtues of Indian arts to spread the message of equality and Inclusivity. DEVI has successfully managed to build a cohort that believes in working together to celebrate art, culture and women’s empowerment. Since it works within the legal fraternity, DEVI has encouraged members of the legal world to contribute as performing artists for its events.

The solo exhibition of Warli paintings by acclaimed artist Sanjay Parhad seeks to illuminate the timeless visual language of Warli art—one of India’s most vital tribal art forms—by tracing its deep-rooted cultural ethos and its evolving contemporary resonance. Sanjay’s work vividly portrays the oral histories, customs, and cosmologies of the Warli community in Maharashtra. His paintings draw from the tribal community’s collective memory, rendering sacred myths and everyday scenes with poetic rhythm and meticulous detail. While rooted in tradition, Parhad’s practice has expanded to engage with contemporary themes, transforming Warli art into a living, breathing narrative of the present. Known for his signature linear style, fluid motion, and masterful use of scale and space, Parhad bridges generations of storytelling—evoking ancestral spirits and ecological harmony, while commenting on modern realities. This exhibition is curated by Chhavi Jain.

Presented by Khushi Art his exhibition by Poonam Bhatnagar is about mythological characters, world universes and landscapes as well as an abstract series of geometry and symbolism in contemporary characters. Her exhibition of acrylics on canvas as well as drawings on paper created in terms of Mythos accents and characters from Indian mythology. Her details, her narrative and her compositional brilliance are a set of stories that transcend both time and tradition. As an artist she has been tracing tradition in the old ideology of mythos and studying landscapes. She combines the lexicon of language with the concept of the rustic rhythms of Indian identities in Mythos. This show is curated by Uma Nair.

Shree Naik is a Delhi-based landscape architect and artist whose creative journey beautifully blends design and fine art. Known for his exceptional versatility and ambidextrous talent, he moves effortlessly between landscape architecture, painting, sketching, and visual expression. Inspired by nature and everyday experiences, his works reflect a keen eye for detail, composition, and emotion. This exhibition celebrates his 50th birthday, marking five decades of creativity, exploration, and artistic passion.

This exhibition brings together rare maps of India to reveal how cartography functioned as an instrument of power—shaping, controlling, and continually reimagining the subcontinent. The exhibition traces the evolution of cartographic practices in India from the sixteenth century onwards, beginning with early European attempts to visualize the subcontinent and extending through colonial surveys to modern printed maps. Initially conceived as instruments of navigation, conquest and imperial control, these maps reveal how knowledge of territory was systematically produced and codified. This exhibition is curated by Swapna Liddle.

The exhibition showcases a variety of Kanchan Chander’s works through her now forty-five-year career. It will include exclusive drawings and etchings which have never been displayed before and bringing together a large body of her work to celebrate her trajectory as an artist.

Presented by Art Explore, this exhibition serves as a powerful platform to present Vipul Kumar’s artistic journey — from his early stone sculptures to his transformative engagement with clay. Central to the show are works that explore environmental fragility, spiritual introspection, and mythological symbolism. Drawing from Jain and Buddhist cosmologies, as well as poetic traditions such as that of Kabir, Kumar’s sculptures evoke a timeless quality while remaining deeply rooted in contemporary concerns. The exhibition will include key pieces and newly developed works that mark a turning point in his career. With raw, weathered surfaces and organic, monumental forms, the sculptures invite viewers into a meditative space where philosophical inquiry meets sensory experience. This proposed solo exhibition highlights Vipul Kumar’s mastery over material and form and asserts his pivotal role in shaping contemporary Indian ceramics. It reaffirms ceramics as a serious medium of artistic expression and brings critical and curatorial attention to an artist who continues to challenge boundaries with quiet intensity and profound clarity.

Presented by the Knowledge Convergence Foundation, this exhibition reflects the promising future of visual arts in India across regions. It also intends to show the impact that residency had on the practices of the exhibiting artists. The curatorial umbrella under which the works are showcased, Paradise Promised, explores the varied interpretations of paradise and its role in shaping aspirations. Many artists have looked at notions of development, nature and even personal relationships as a sort of paradise. Drawing on philosophical, spiritual, and cultural discourses across time, the residency invites participants to reflect on the evolving meanings of paradise in both personal and collective contexts.

Visual excavations of Prabhakar Kolte reveal the layered sediments of lived experiences of the artist as an individual and a carrier of a collective culture. The brushstrokes that run emphatically on the pictorial surfaces assume the vertical and horizontal interventions of digging, leaving viewers stand in amazement and awe as they unearth object-forms, geometrical shapes and unspoken rhythms that had been buried along with the memories. Together they create a language that is no longer in parlance but contain words and sentences both decipherable and indecipherable, making archeologists of aesthetics out of the astonished viewers. This curatorial project is meant to explore these questions in a vigorous way by taking the vignettes of Kolte visual expressions from the recent and remote series of paintings and celebrate the veteran’s 80th birthday. This exhibition is curated by JonhyML, presented by Treasure Art Gallery (TAG) is a distinguished cultural platform dedicated to the promotion and advancement of Modern and Contemporary Indian Art. The gallery serves as a dynamic space where artists, collectors, connoisseurs, institutions, and art enthusiasts engage in meaningful dialogue, fostering deeper appreciation and understanding of contemporary artistic practices.

Presented by Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad, in this group exhibition the artists have examined the shifts of the recent past through the lens of their own visual vocabulary. This could range from sudden presence or sudden lack of colour; moving from big to small canvases or from figuration to abstraction. A set of artists in this group can be seen archiving family histories some, having noticed the lack of representation of caste/gender, are rectifying that by inserting figures/archival material into their work. The constant presence of memories of a loved one, lost in the recent past, is being memorialized through found objects. The exhibition also looks at personal awakenings and has been curated by Avantika Bhuniya.

Roy K John’s paintings are better understood as vegetal architectures. In these works, fruiting trees, banana plants, bamboo clusters, birds, houses and water bodies form complete pictorial worlds. The plant is not a decorative subject placed within a landscape; it is the structure through which the landscape exists. Drawing on Kerala’s mural traditions, botanical observation and the memory of cultivated environments, Roy creates paintings where surface and depth remain in constant tension. Leaves flatten into pattern, fruits become icons, trunks become columns, and distant houses are absorbed into dense vegetal space. This exhibition is presented by Gallerie Splash, founded in 2010 by Jinoy Payyappilly, is a contemporary art institution in Gurgaon with a sustained commitment to research-driven practice and long-term artistic and curatorial development.
