The Mycelial Legacies

Mycelial Legacies, a survey exhibition of women artists from Faculty of Fine Arts, Vadodara, curated by Deeksha Nath. The Legacy Of Bhanu Athaiya

Bhanu Athaiya was the first Indian to win an Academy award / Oscar. Prior to starting her career as a costume designer, Bhanu was the only woman artist in the progressive artist group. She was also the first woman to win a Gold Medal at the JJ School of Art for her brilliant work. Prinseps, would like to propose an exhaustive exhibition of her artworks, costume designs, and archival material created over her career span of six decades. Prinseps is an avant-garde auction house that celebrates discerning luxury and prides itself on being a research-focused auction house with a par-excellence archive and library. The name Princeps is a reference to the Latin word meaning 'first' or 'foremost', to the princely states and to James Prinsep, the founding editor of the Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal. Best known for deciphering the Kharosthi and Brahmi scripts of ancient India, James Prinsep’s diligent documentation and illustration of aspects of culture are reflected in Prinseps methodologies and processes.

From the Dark SIde

Sudip Roy is an Indian artist, pursuing arts at the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. Works of Sudip Roy includes pencil sketches and watercolours, charcoals and a heady series of landscape done in limped line drawing. Roy over the years mastered the art of watercolour and moved from landscapes to studies of architectural facades and the association of people in historic temples and monuments. He moved to the capital city of Delhi in the mid-1990s. Roy's solo show “From The Dark Side” in Delhi after a long gap of 7 years, and he has been working on a new body of watercolours, oils, installations and themes to present at the Bikaner House for the first time.

THE GLASS MANAGERIE

The Glass Makers Club aims to bring together artists, practitioners, writers, connoisseurs, and collectors exploring the medium in different ways; and to collectively address the infrastructural and other challenges that makers of glass continue to face. Glass art in India is connected to a long legacy of historical trade and courtly patronage, building community artisanship and craft of a very high level, particularly in blown glass techniques. Glass has made its presence felt in the space of contemporary art and design as well, with a few individuals and studios leading the way.

House of Angadi

The Cultural Night by the House of Angadi, will be a celebration of the cross-cultural nature of textiles and essay the heritage tale in its most splendid form. The event will witness exquisitely woven textile installations on display and a musical recital by an eminent performer. The idea through this event is to present the rich textile bastion of the country to the modern day connoisseurs of luxe living. We intend to create an immersive experiential showcase of the exclusive weaves by label Advaya, over a celebratory musical evening for the UHNI’s of the capital city.
